Mini Meet North 2010

We've been busy with the website, organizing and planning the return of Mini Meet North to celebrate of the 50th anniversary of Mosport International Raceway!



Mini Meet North is the featured event at the 31st Annual VARAC International Vintage Racing Festival June 18-20 2010 at the Historic Mosport International Raceway. Mini Meet North entrants will have full access to the whole festival including MMN specific events & prizes as well as free on site camping!

We have arranged a dyno to be available during the whole event, for those that with to REALLY see how much power they have under their hoods. It will be open to everyone and Mini Meet North entrants will get a special rate. This event looks like it will be a blast with probably some good magazine coverage!

I think it's safe to say that the interest in this event is amazing considering we're just getting started! As with any event, word of mouth is what makes it grow. With "the more Minis the merrier" philosophy, please spread the news about the event to other Miniowners. Feel free to print the flyer and keep a couple in your Mini so you'll have them for when you see other Minis at other meets or just driving around.

OTHER NEWS:

For those who have a “need for speed” there will be an open lapping session on the Historic Mosport International Raceway – Road course on Thursday June 17th 2010. We have arranged for a few open spots for this session. Email me at minimeetnorth@gmail.com if you have any questions or wish to attend this once in a lifetime event. Please hurry because this is a VERY limited and rare opportunity!

I would like to ask that you folks think about whether you'd like to become the Administrator of this group. I am willing to do it until Dec. 31st, then I will step down, and someone else needs to take over.

From what I have seen so far, it is not hard to do, it takes mere seconds to invite someone to join, any member can post, Dave has done the tricky stuff of getting things set up and he has a page of instructions he gave me about how to navigate the various components of the site that I am sure he'd share. I dont have the time to do this, the Oiy Rag keeps me plenty busy. So please consider taking over as an Administrator. If nobody does, I fear this group could collapse before it gets off the ground. We need some help!

Hi guys!

I pulled this list together fairly quick to get things up and running.  It was put up on the premise that "if you build it they will come".  Well, here you are.  And, for the most part its like you stepped into a room and are now looking around.

This blog site is the central gathering point for, what I would call, day to day activities.
You all have logins to get to this.

There are also a picasa picture site, google calendar and google sites.

Now it is time for you all to get together and figure out what kind of club/association/group you want.  If there is something you want to know how to do, drop me an e-mail and I'll help. 

If in this process you want to change web services to something that fits better, it is fine with me.  I did not want to lock anybody in to this way of doing things.

Add Dates to Calendar

I tried to add a date to the calendar and it didn't work out. Can anyone tell me how to do that?

Made it December!

It's Dec. 1st and Nigel is still out and about. This is the first time ever he's been out all thru Nov. and I hope he can still go for a tour for at least a few days more. Who needs snow? Not me!

Anyone else still have their Mini on the road?
